ColourColour Chat: Yellow, Yellow!
It is a gorgeous, glorious colour! There’s no such thing as too much sunshine. And for a while, there’s been no such thing as wearing too much yellow!
While neutrals like Black, White and Beige look to be the colours of seasons to come, Yellows of all kinds continue to be favourites.
Citron, Champagne, Lemon, Gold, Neon,
Saffron, Mustard, Jewel-Tone Yellow
These and other variations of yellow have shared the limelight of our collective attention though some have been more dominant than others. The dominant yellows include Gold, Saffron, and Jewel Tone Yellow. For this post, I’ve sampled 6 popular variations.
*Hint* ↠ #6 is the ‘Belle of the Ball’!
Jewel Tones are colours derived from gemstones. These colours are feted by stylists and designers because they have the right balance of intensity and saturation.
While Gold (especially non-metallic) doesn’t always translate in clothing, and Saffron sometimes blends away from yellow to orange, Jewel Tone Yellow holds steady. It is bright but not overly so, and rich but not overly so. Jewel Tone Yellow is perfect for everyone who’s caught the yellow bug!
