StyleWith or Without The Necklace?

Da Vinci on Simplicity

‘With or without the necklace?’ – That is the question! Accessorizing trends come and go but accessorizing for simplicity never gets old! One way to accessorize for simplicity & sophistication is to wear one less item of jewellery than is permissible. ‘The Earrings or The Necklace?’ is one way to consider your options. Most times however, ‘with or without the necklace?’ is the question!

Here are 5 cases where the answer to that question is probably: ‘Without the Necklace!’

Ruffles, Ruffled, Ruffley

Yes … if there’s significant ruffle activity around the neckline of your blouse or dress, you’ll probably look great without the necklace. And the closer that ruffled neckline is to your collarbone, the higher the odds that going without a necklace is the better option.

Bauble Encrusted

Yep … if your outfit has lovely large rhinestones encrusted or embroidered to its neckline, stay on the safe side and skip the necklace. To wear a necklace properly, you’ll have to match the glitter and colour of those rhinestones to a ‘Tee’ and that might be difficult (if not impossible).

Earrings Extraordinaire!

Oh yes … if you plan on rocking an exceptionally beautiful pair of chandelier earrings, you’d be right to ditch the necklace. Let your statement earrings work their magic without distraction or competition!

A Canvas of Details

Ah yes … baubled, sequined, & metallic details are everywhere these days: on the shoulders, on the sleeves, on the mid – lower bodice area and everywhere! Adding to this canvas of details would be a risky move, potentially spoiling the harmony of your look.
Even fashion designers describe this design trend as the incorporation of jewellery on clothing. Keep it simple ladies. Ditch the Necklace.

Bare is Beautiful

Ah … so true. You are always your best accessory. And sometimes, having the right look for the occasion means keeping it bare and beautiful. If accentuating you is what you need, go ahead and ditch the necklace!
